There are lots of national days around the world, and Sunday 6th September 2020 is National Read A Book Day 2020, we thought we'd help you out! However, in an age where technology drives most of our daily activities, reading is one favourite past time that not only expands the mind but also gives us escapism too!
Book clubs have sprung up everywhere, our ongoing love for books dates back to back to the 1600s. More recently Oprah Winfrey’s Book Club, which was created back in 1996 recommended 70 books. Contributing to over $55 million in sales and has since been credited with inspiring millions of people to read books.
Some fun books facts:
Howard Berg in 1990 entered The Guinness World Record Book as the world’s fastest reader at over 25,000 words per minute.
The average person (aka non-speed reader) reads between 200 – 300 words per minute.
One study showed adults who read at least 30 minutes per week are 20% more satisfied with life than those who are not spending the same time reading. So get reading!
